Between Light and Darkness is the second vision in Coronia. Ghadius has begun manipulating the solar eclipses around the realm, causing the enemies to take on an invincible form when under darkness.

The High Priest[]
As the duo arrive outside the entrance to the sanctuary, they spot a priest downed on the floor. They ask if the priest if he's alright and he thanks them for helping him up, stating that Ghadius' forces caught him off guard. The priest introduces himself as Moire, the High Priest of the temple, explaining that he oversees the sanctuary up ahead. When the pair ask about Ghadius, Moire tells them it was already too late; the Moon Door had already been opened and Cress, the Moon Kingdom would soon reawaken. As Klonoa worries about what might happen then, Moire explains that the Moon Kingdom gathers up the power of dreaming and gives form to Phantomile; in other words, Cress is the land where all things are created. He reveals that Ghadius was trying to turn dreams into nightmares and in turn unleash evil upon the world. Huepow declares that they can't just give up regardless of this; they have to stop Ghadius even if the Moon Kingdom has appeared. Moire decides to let them give it a try and grants them entry into the sanctuary. As he takes his leave, Moire warns the pair about the solar eclipse's effects on the enemies up ahead, advising them to attack them when there is light. The pair reflect on this before entering the sanctuary, since if they must attack the enemy while there's light, that would also mean that they're more dangerous when it's dark.
Ghadius' Scheme[]
Klonoa and Huepow arrive at the altar and are immediately confronted by Ghadius, who berates Joka for failing him. The whimpering Joka tries to explain himself, but Ghadius simply tells him that the duo's arrival doesn't matter. When the pair demand to know what Ghadius was planning, he tells them that it was nothing more than simple revenge. "Revenge?", Klonoa repeats, before Ghadius further expresses his nihilistic views on Phantomile's denizens, who not only imprisoned him in darkness, but also -in his view- indulge themselves in what he sees as "pointless" dreams. Therefore he would drown everyone and everything in a sea of nightmares. He adds that through Lephise and the "egg of destruction" that lies within the Moon Kingdom, which would soon reveal its true form to the world, his plans would come to fruition. He then disappears, declaring that "the time has come". As Huepow tells Klonoa that they have to go after Ghadius, Joka suddenly interrupts, telling them in a more distorted voice that there would be no need for that. He tells them that he intends to finish them off right here and now, stating that his pride would accept nothing less. Raising the altar pathway above, he declares that he would teach the pair one final lesson, through the use of the strength he would obtain from the power of darkness.
