Garlen learned about the history of the [[Hero Medal|Hero Medals]] and their creator [[Nahatomb (Klonoa Heroes)|Nahatomb]], and sought to use Nahatomb as a tool for world domination. He employed [[Butz]] and [[Janga]] to look for the Darkness of Nahatomb. When Butz refused to revive the monster, Garlen ordered Janga to kill Butz, which he did.
